Before installing your new appliance, it is highly recommended that the chimney be properly cleared of any debris and soot. Normally sweeping the chimney in a conventional manor using regular sweeping brushes will remove only the loose deposits. Creosote or crust deposits from solid fuel usage will be left behind, which eventually loosen and fall onto the gas fire,  causing problems and possible dangers of poisonous CARBON MONOXIDE gas spilling into the room.

The solution to this problem is to have the chimney mechanically cleared of all debris ready for the installation of your new appliance. The service involves a high speed flail passing through the flue and descaling the lining of any build up. This procedure is completely mess free and carried out from the roof most of the time, which allows us to closely inspect the chimney at the same time.
